I A M A M I W H O A M I

Repeat with me: I A M A M I W H O A M I

Yes, this is the new cool Swedish band that just released the best album of the year so far...

The story of this band is quite interesting...

They started to launch in 2009 short videos on YouTube with some encrypted messages. During several months nobody knew exactly who was the people behind (Good job with marketing 2.0 guys). Everything was a big mystery. People was totally trapped into that splendid cinematography filled with surreal images and electronic music.

This was their first video if i am not mistaken...

After that they did their first concert but it was not going to be something very conventional. They announced a concert in streaming on line trough their website. Location unknown.

This was the amazing result (it is 1 hour video, you better take a seat)...

Finally in 2012 they release their first album: "KIN"

The album is really good. That is the first thing I want to make clear... but.... after all that mystery and expectations they created... I guess that everyone was waiting for something else and now we just realized they are humans... and this is just a Pop album.

Their main influences are Bjork, The Knife and personally I see some Kate Bush in the way she sings. Their style goes from synth/electro pop to the Down-tempo from Portishead. It is a mix between all this but in a Pop version.

The songs are sensual but dark.. I can also say its kind of Industrial music somehow.... The production is quite good also.

This is the first album of 2012 that gets my full attention.

Now time to enjoy one of the best songs from KIN:

FRANK OCEAN

Maybe my favorite artist from the contemporary R&B. This song (Pyramids) belongs to the new album (Channel Orange). It is a 10 min single mixing R&B with Electro Pop and ending with an "Air Guitar" Solo. Take that!

PLAITUM

Trip Hop, Synth, Noise and much more to give you an idea about the twisted and precious songs from this unknown band from England... or as they say:
"Doorstep. That's our genre. Like a chunky soup made up of witch house and a school disco with lots of distortion."
Please give me an LP.
Meanwhile...
